Very predictable result when fifth ranked Estudiantes O. (16-14) won against 11th ranked Gimnasia LP (12-16) in La Plata 106-91 on Tuesday. Estudiantes O. shot 64.1 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Estudiantes O. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Cameroonian power forward Gaston Essengue (203-83, college: UNLV) notched 21 points to lead the effort and Joaquin Gamazo (198-91) supported him with 18 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Even 27 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) by point guard Leonardo La-Bella (180-86) did not help to save the game for Gimnasia LP. American forward Brandon Nazione (202-94, college: E.Michigan) added 29 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Estudiantes O. maintains fifth position in South with 16-14 record. Gimnasia LP lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 16 games lost.
