Regular Season Round 21: Almeria - Valencia 47-89

Very predictable result when second ranked Valencia (18-3) outscored on the road 12th ranked Almeria (5-16) 89-47 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Valencia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Almeria's 34. The best player for the winners was Montenegrin center Ana Turcinovic-Pocek (190-93, agency: ProDep Management) who scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Mali power forward Meiya Tirera (186-86, agency: ProDep Management) chipped in 10 points and 5 rebounds. Five Valencia players scored in double figures. Valencia's coach Ruben Burgos felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Bosnian center Samra Omerbasic (191-90, agency: PEPI SPORT) who recorded 14 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Isabel Latorre (169-96) added 6 points and 6 assists respectively. The victory was the fourteenth consecutive win for Valencia. They maintain second place in Group B with 18-3 record having just two points less than leader Gran Canaria. Newly promoted Almeria keeps the twelfth position with 16 games lost. Valencia will face Promete (#11) in Logrono in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Almeria will play at home against Distrito Olimpico and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
