The game between seventh ranked Kouvottaret (9-14) and 10th ranked Aanekosken (1-22) in Kouvola on Wednesday ended with biggest points difference. Kouvottaret outscored guests from Aanekoski 119-45. The game without a history. Kouvottaret led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Aanekosken to just 7 points in third quarter. Kouvottaret dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Aanekosken's 30. Kouvottaret forced 34 Aanekosken turnovers and outrebounded them 38-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Aanekosken's players. American point guard Brittany Carter (183-93, college: Illinois) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points, 7 assists and 7 steals. Kouvottaret's coach Mika Hartonen felt very confident using 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Lotta Kymalainen (185-96) answered with 16 points and 6 rebounds and forward Emma Virtanen (178-93) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Aanekosken. Kouvottaret moved-up to sixth place. Aanekosken lost nineteenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 22 lost games. Kouvottaret will face league's second-placed Tapiolan Honka on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Aanekosken will play against Espoo Team (#7) and hope to win that game.
