There was a small surprise when seventh ranked Roma S.Azzurra (15-8) beat on the road 4th placed Salerno (18-7) 79-63 on Thursday. Roma S.Azzurra had a 22-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 63.2 percentage. Naturalized Dominican guard Yancarlos-Jefferson Rodriguez (195-94) fired 22 points and 4 assists for the winners. Maltese center Kurt Cassar (209-99) chipped in 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Roma S.Azzurra players scored in double figures. Roma S.Azzurra's coach Germano D'Arcangeli let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest.
