Regular Season Round 26: Ryukyu GK - Osaka Evessa 78-66

There was no surprise when 3rd ranked Osaka Evessa (13-27) lost to first ranked Ryukyu GK (32-8) in Okinawa 66-78 on Friday. Ryukyu GK looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. International forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds. American forward Hassan Martin (201-95, college: Rhode Island) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. Ryukyu GK's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American center Keith Benson (211-88, college: Oakland) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St.) added 21 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Osaka Evessa. Ryukyu GK have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 32-8 record, which they share with SeaHorses. Osaka Evessa lost third consecutive game. They keep the third place with 27 games lost. Ryukyu GK will face San-en NeoPhoenix (#3) in Hamamatsu in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Osaka Evessa will play at home against Toyama Grouses and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
