The game had a very big importance for third-ranked HLA Alicante as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (CB Granada) loss. HLA Alicante defeated 4th placed Fontedoso Carrefour at home 62-57. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Fontedoso Carrefour. Fontedoso Carrefour was ahead by 1 point after three quarters before a 27-21 charge of HLA Alicante, which allowed them to win the game. Point guard Pedro Rivero (186-79) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 6 rebounds. American Amadou Sidibe (203-94, college: Fairfield, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Venezuelan point guard Harold Cazorla (175-91, agency: Duran International) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and forward Jon Aramburu (204-92, agency: Duran International) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Fontedoso Carrefour. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. HLA Alicante have a solid series of three victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Granada and La Roda. Fontedoso Carrefour at the other side dropped to the fifth place with nine games lost. Fontedoso Carrefour will play next round against Navarra trying to get back on the winning streak. HLA Alicante will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked L'Hospitalet on the road.
