Regular Season Round 25: Hamar - FSU 100-86

There was no surprise when 8th ranked FSU (5-18) was defeated on the road by third ranked Hamar (16-6) 100-86 on Friday. The game without a history. Hamar led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American guard Larry Thomas (185-93, college: Birm.Southern) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and guard Jon Sverrisson (187-98) chipped in 10 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Thomas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Hamar's coach Ingvarsson Petur used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward Antowine Lamb (203-88, college: McPherson) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 16 rebounds and point guard Hlynur Hreinsson (174-92) scored 28 points and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Hamar. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Breidablik. Loser FSU keeps the eighth position with 18 games lost. Hamar will meet Fjolnir (#6) in the next round. FSU will have a break next round.
