Regular Season Round 21: Dijon - Hyeres-Toulon 98-71

Very expected game when 16th ranked Hyeres-Toulon (7-14) was rolled over on the road by eighth ranked JDA Dijon (11-10) 98-71 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by JDA Dijon. Hyeres-Toulon was better in second period 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. JDA Dijon looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard David Holston (168-86, college: Chicago St.) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 assists. His fellow American import Rion Brown (198-91, college: Miami, FL) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Armenian point guard Terry Smith (185-86, college: Mercyhurst) who recorded 14 points and 9 assists and the former international center Ferdinand Prenom (201-91) added 14 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) respectively. Five JDA Dijon and four Hyeres-Toulon players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for JDA Dijon. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with ASVEL. Hyeres-Toulon lost their eighth game in a row. They dropped to the bottom position with 14 games lost. JDA Dijon will face league's second-placed Monaco on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hyeres-Toulon will play against Pau-Lacq-Orthez (#15) and hope to win that game.
