Regular Season Round 43: Correcaminos - Soles 87-76

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Soles (26-12) in Ciudad Victoria on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by seventh ranked Correcaminos (21-18) 87-76. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Soles. It was a great shooting night for Correcaminos especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Cezar Guerrero (185-92, college: Fresno St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. American swingman JR Giddens (196-85, college: N.Mexico) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Correcaminos' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American swingman Richard Roby (198-85) answered with 17 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import forward Chane Behanan (198-92, college: Louisville) added 17 points in the effort for Soles. Four Correcaminos and five Soles players scored in double figures. Correcaminos have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain seventh place with 21-18 record. Soles at the other side still keep top position with 12 games lost. Correcaminos are again looking forward to face league's leader Soles in Mexicali in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Soles will have a break next round.
