We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when twelfth ranked Joinville (6-19) won against at home 11th ranked SKY/Basquete (9-13) 73-59 on Friday. Joinville forced 21 SKY/Basquete turnovers. Strangely SKY/Basquete outrebounded Joinville 45-26 including 18 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for American guard Deonta Stocks (185-88, college: W.Georgia) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points, 8 assists and 4 steals. Guard Felipe Vezaro (193-92, college: Texas A&M Int.) helped adding 22 points and 7 rebounds. The former international point guard David Rossetto (180-93) responded with 12 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and American guard Rashaun McLemore (193-86, college: CS Northridge) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Despite that victory Joinville went down to thirteenth position due to points difference. Loser SKY/Basquete keeps the eleventh place with 13 games lost. Joinville will face higher ranked Vasco Da G. (#9) in Rio de Janeiro in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
