Regular Season Round 25: Polonia Bytom - Zaglebie 76-70

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Zaglebie (14-11) lost on the road to eighth ranked Polonia Bytom (12-12) 76-70 on Saturday. Polonia Bytom outrebounded Zaglebie 39-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for guard Krzysztof Kurdubski (199-87) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Jakub Pawlak (198-93) contributed with 22 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Point guard Pawel Jurczynski (183-91) answered with 23 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) and Kacper Bejnar (200-97) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Zaglebie. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Polonia Bytom. They maintain eighth place in Group C with 12-12 record. Loser Zaglebie keeps the fifth position with 11 games lost. Polonia Bytom will face Przemysl (#9) on the road in the next round. Zaglebie will play against Cracovia (#14) in Krakow and hope to win that game.
