Very predictable result in Thessaloniki where seventh ranked PAOK (9-8) defeated bottom-ranked Aiolos Trikallon (3-14) 58-54. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Aiolos Trikallon won fourth quarter 14-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 24 personal fouls committed by Aiolos Trikallon helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. International power forward Vangelis Margaritis (203-82) orchestrated the victory by scoring 11 points and 9 rebounds. American-Gambian forward Ousman Krubally (202-88, college: Georgia St.) contributed with 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. PAOK's coach Ilias Papatheodorou allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American power forward John Fields (205-88, college: Tennessee) answered with 6 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import guard Xavier Thames (191-91, college: San Diego St.) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Aiolos Trikallon. PAOK moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Kolossos HH. Aiolos Trikallon lost their fourth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. PAOK's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Thessaloniki to the arena Aris.
