Regular Season Round 23: Paulistano - Vasco Da G. 102-59

NBB top team - Paulistano (21-3) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Vasco Da G. (10-15) in Sao Paulo 102-59. Paulistano dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Vasco Da G.'s 36 and made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Vasco Da G. 42-26 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Paulistano looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for international forward Lucas Dias-Silva (209-95) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 9 rebounds. The former international point guard Deryk Ramos (185-94) helped adding 12 points and 5 assists. Five Paulistano players scored in double figures. American forward Christopher Hayes (203-87, college: Detroit Mercy) responded with 9 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import David Jackson (195-82, college: Penn St.) scored 4 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Paulistano have an impressive series of nineteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 21-3 record. Loser Vasco Da G. keeps the ninth position with 15 games lost. Paulistano will face Campo Mourao (#14) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Vasco Da G. will play against Joinville (#13) and hope to win that game.
