Regular Season Round 22: Dinamo Tbilisi - Cactus Tbilisi 76-62

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tbilisi: Dinamo Tbilisi (#3) and Cactus Tbilisi (#4). Dinamo Tbilisi (12-7) won against visiting Cactus Tbilisi (11-9) 76-62. The game was mostly controlled by Dinamo Tbilisi. Cactus Tbilisi managed to win fourth quarter 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dinamo Tbilisi dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Cactus Tbilisi's 32. American center Kiel Turpin (213-89, college: Florida St.) fired a double-double by scoring 11 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. International center Ilia Londaridze (205-89) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. Four Dinamo Tbilisi players scored in double figures. American guard Deondre Parks (185-92, college: S.Dakota St.) produced 22 points (made all of his eight free throws) and his fellow American import guard Terik Bridgeman (198, college: William Pater.) added 3 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains third position with 12-7 record having four points less than leader Kutaisi. Cactus Tbilisi at the other side dropped to the fifth place with nine games lost. Dinamo Tbilisi's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena Sokhumi.
