Regular Season Round 31: JX-Eneos S. - Denso Iris 78-48

The game between Top Four teams took place in Kashiwa. First ranked host JX-Eneos S. (31-1) smashed their biggest opponent Denso Iris (25-7) 78-48. It looked good early as Denso Iris took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then JX-Eneos S. had a 18-9 second period charge getting the lead and Denso Iris were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 48-78. They outrebounded Denso Iris 44-30 including 17 on the offensive glass. JX-Eneos S. players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for international forward Yuki Miyazawa (181-93, college: Queens, NY) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. The former international forward Yuka Osaki-Mamiya (185-90) accounted for 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. The former international power forward Maki Takada (183-89) came up with 14 points and 8 rebounds and the former international center Sakura Akaho (182-96) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Denso Iris in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. JX-Eneos S. have an impressive series of seventeen victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 31-1 record. Denso Iris at the other side keep the second position with seven games lost. They share it with Toyota A.. JX-Eneos S. will play against Chanson V-M (#4) in Shizuoka in the next round. Denso Iris will play at home against Aishin Wings and hope to get back on the winning track.
