Not a big story in a game when 4th ranked Toyama Grouses (17-23) were outscored at home by second ranked Diamond Dolphins (20-20) 84-63 on Saturday. Diamond Dolphins looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Takaya Sasayama (178-93) contributed with 12 points, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Diamond Dolphins players scored in double figures. American center Dexter Pittman (208-88, college: Texas, agency: Inception Sports) replied with 18 points and 6 rebounds and international forward Naoki Uto (188-91) added 14 points and 6 assists in the effort for Toyama Grouses. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Diamond Dolphins maintains second position with 20-20 record having twelve points less than leader Ryukyu GK. Toyama Grouses lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with 23 games lost. Diamond Dolphins will face Tochigi Brex (#5) on the road in the next round. Toyama Grouses will play against Osaka Evessa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
