Regular Season Round 17: Olympiacos Volou - PAOK 76-82

Rather expected game when 10th ranked Olympiacos Volou (4-13) was defeated at home by seventh ranked PAOK (9-8) 82-76 on Sunday. The game without a history. PAOK led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. PAOK outrebounded Olympiacos Volou 39-24 including a 27-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Bahrain forward Brittany Lewis (188-89, college: Louisiana Tech) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). American power forward Kierra Mallard (188-90, college: Texas Tech) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. American power forward Sherise Williams (191-93, college: Mississippi St.) produced 27 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import guard Ciara Andrews (175-94, college: St.Joseph's) added 21 points and 6 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. PAOK moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Athinaikos and Niki Lefkadas. Newly promoted Olympiacos Volou keeps the tenth position with 13 games lost. PAOK will meet at home Esperides (#8) in the next round. Olympiacos Volou will play against the league's second-placed Faros Keratsiniou and hope to secure a win.
