Regular Season Round 25: Pielagos - Valle de Egues 78-82

There was a surprise result in Renedo de Pielagos where fourteenth ranked Valle de Egues (7-16) defeated 4th placed Pielagos (15-8) 82-78 on Sunday. Pielagos trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 25-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 78-82 at the end of the game. Ivan Del-Rio (-97) stepped up and scored 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and Ivorian power forward Kouassi Konan (204-91) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. Five Valle de Egues players scored in double figures. At the losing side Canadian forward Pape Seck (208, college: Simon Fraser) responded with 19 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and power forward Daniel Garcia (203-97) scored 23 points. Valle de Egues moved-up to thirteenth place in Group A-A, which they share with Mondragon. Loser Pielagos keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Valle de Egues will face Mondragon (#14) at home in the next round. Pielagos will play against Zarautz (#15) and hope to win that game.
