Regular Season Round 25: Naron - Estudiantes L. 91-69

There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Naron (9-14) outleveled at home higher ranked Estudiantes L. (11-12) 91-69 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Naron. Estudiantes L. was better in fourth quarter 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Naron outrebounded Estudiantes L. 41-28 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. American Shanon Fowler (-93) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 17 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and forward Jorge Aller (195-97) chipped in 20 points. Five Naron players scored in double figures. At the losing side Senegalese forward Mor Niang (201-99) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and guard Jose-Antonio Lopez (190-96) scored 18 points and 4 steals. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Naron moved-up to tenth place in Group A-B, which they share with Rosalia and COB. Loser Estudiantes L. dropped to the ninth position with 12 games lost. Naron will face higher ranked Innova Chef (#6) in Zamora in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
