Regular Season Round 18: Maccabi T-A - Ironi Nes-Ziona 76-85

Leading Maccabi T-A (14-4) recorded its fourth loss in Tel-Aviv. Hosts were defeated by tenth ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (7-11) 85-76. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Maccabi T-A. Maccabi T-A was ahead by 8 points at the halftime before a 50-33 second half run of Ironi Nes-Ziona. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. American guard Khalif Wyatt (193-91, college: Temple, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 23 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and American-Puerto Rican guard Gary Browne (185-93, college: W.Virginia, agency: Inception Sports) chipped in 12 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Four Ironi Nes-Ziona players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard Norris Cole (188-88, college: Cleveland St.) with 16 points and naturalized American point guard John DiBartolomeo (183-91, college: Rochester, agency: Duran International) scored 18 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ironi Nes-Ziona moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Ironi Nahariya. Maccabi T-A at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. They share it with Hapoel Holon. Ironi Nes-Ziona will play against league's leader Hapoel Holon at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Maccabi T-A will play against Hapoel Jerusalem and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
