No shocking result in a game in Barcelona where seventh ranked Joventut LC (11-10) defeated 11th ranked Ascensores Tresa (7-14) 84-69 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Joventut LC. Ascensores Tresa was better in second period 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Joventut LC looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. The best player for the winners was Eliana Soriano who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists. Center Paula Tutusaus (186-95) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four Joventut LC players scored in double figures. Joventut LC's coach Sergio Manzano used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Argentinian Isabella Sangali who recorded 26 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Riley Nordgaard (178-93, college: Montana St.) added 25 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Joventut LC moved-up to sixth place in Group A, which they share with Cortegada. Newly promoted Ascensores Tresa keeps the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Joventut LC will face Rioja (#9) in Azkoitia in the next round. Ascensores Tresa will play on the road against Segle XXI in Barcelona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
