Very expected game when 13th ranked Salt (4-15) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Cornella (11-9) 89-72 on Sunday. Cornella shot 69.4 percent from the field. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Salt's players. Salt was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Power forward Oscar Raya (209-89) stepped up and scored 16 points and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners and forward Nacho Marin (201-93) chipped in 11 points and 6 assists. At the losing side American forward Hasain Bunnell (198, college: Miles) responded with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Tylor Wimbish (201-93, college: Mo.-St.Louis) scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Cornella maintains seventh place in Group C-B with 11-9 record. Salt lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 15 games lost. Cornella will face higher ranked Valls Nutrion (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Salt will play against Igualada (#4) and hope to win that game.
