Regular Season Round 25: Menorca - Barbera 82-64

Very predictable result in Mahon where second ranked Menorca (14-5) defeated 12th ranked Barbera (6-13) 82-64 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Menorca. Barbera was better in second period 23-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Menorca dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Barbera's 24. Point guard Jorge Jimenez (182-81) stepped up and scored 22 points and 9 assists for the winners and center Jan Orfila (207-84, agency: Athleadz) chipped in 22 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Four Menorca players scored in double figures. Menorca's coach Oriol Pages used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. At the losing side center Hernan Olaguibe (203-86) responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Sergio Guardia (188-88) scored 13 points and 4 steals. Menorca have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain second place in Group C-A with 14-5 record having four points less than leader Vic. Loser Barbera keeps the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Menorca will face Sant Josep (#6) in Badalona in the next round. Barbera will play at home against Cantaires Tortosa (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
