Second Stage Round 1: Gorizont II - COR Victoria 74-76

The most exciting game of round 1 in the Premier League took place in Minsk. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of Gorizont II (4-22) to BrGU COR Victoria (7-19) 76-74 on Sunday evening. The guests trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 23-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. BrGU COR Victoria forced 29 Gorizont II turnovers. Strangely Gorizont II outrebounded BrGU COR Victoria 43-29 including 19 on the offensive glass. Guard Khrystina Batsanova (165-96) fired 30 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Darya Panasiuk (176-96) chipped in 24 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Guard Sabira Agaeva (172-0) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Lyubov Stepanova (165-99) added 8 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. BrGU COR Victoria will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gorizont II will play on the road against Victoria (#6) in Grodno and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
