Regular Season Round 21: Tokyo HT - Tokyo Cinq R. 84-55

Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Tokyo: Tokyo HT (#1) and Tokyo Cinq R. (#8). Tokyo HT (24-6) crushed visiting Tokyo Cinq R. (4-24) by 29 points 84-55. Tokyo HT dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo Cinq R.'s 40. Tokyo HT forced 19 Tokyo Cinq R. turnovers. It was a good game for American power forward Alex Jones (206-87, college: Seattle) who led his team to a victory with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Kandai Nakamura (168-92) contributed with 17 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Tokyo HT players scored in double figures. American guard Andre Murray (188-87, college: Portland St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Drew Martin (203-94, college: Concordia, OR, agency: Court Side) added 15 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Tokyo Cinq R.The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Tokyo HT. They maintain first place with 24-6 record. Tokyo Cinq R. lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the bottom. They share the position with Tokyo Big Blue. Tokyo HT will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tokyo Cinq R.'s supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tokyo Tokyo Excel..
