Second Stage Round 3: Al Riyadi - Homenetmen 86-85

The most exciting game of round 3 in the LBL took place in Beirut. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of Homenetmen (16-4) to Al Riyadi (18-3) 86-85 in the game for the first place. Al Riyadi outrebounded Homenetmen 44-32 including 31 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Al Riyadi made 9 blocks. It was a great evening for the former international guard Amir Saoud (186-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points. American forward Donte Greene (206-88, college: Syracuse) helped adding 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. Five Al Riyadi players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Tunisian Makram Ben-Romdhane (204-89) with 26 points and 8 rebounds and U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican point guard Walter Hodge (183-86, college: Florida) scored 21 points and 8 assists.
