Regular Season Round 18: Hapoel J-M - Bnei Hertzeliya 66-78
Date: March 4, 2018
Very important is a home loss of third ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (11-7) against eleventh ranked Bnei Hasharon (6-12) on Sunday night. Host Hapoel Jerusalem was defeated by Bnei Hasharon in Jerusalem 78-66. The game was mostly controlled by Bnei Hasharon. Hapoel Jerusalem managed to win third quarter 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bnei Hasharon forced 20 Hapoel Jerusalem turnovers. American forward Jeff Adrien (201-86, college: Connecticut) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international swingman Shawn Dawson (198-93) supported him with 18 points. Even 22 points and 6 rebounds by American Jerome Dyson (191-87, college: Connecticut) did not help to save the game for Hapoel Jerusalem. His fellow American import point guard Kalin Lucas (185-89, college: Michigan St.) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Bnei Hasharon maintains eleventh position with 6-12 record, which they share with Maccabi Haifa. Defending champion Hapoel Jerusalem keeps the third place with seven games lost. Bnei Hasharon will meet higher ranked Galil Gilboa (#6) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Hapoel Jerusalem will play against the league's second-placed Maccabi T-A where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
