Regular Season Round 26: Chiba Jets - Hitachi SR 93-85

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Chiba Jets as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Chiba Jets defeated 4th ranked Hitachi Sunrockers at home 93-85. Chiba Jets players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. International power forward Ryumo Ono (197-88) scored 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) chipped in 12 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Canadian center Robert Sacre (213-89, college: Gonzaga) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and American forward Josh Harrellson (208-89, college: Kentucky) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Chiba Jets have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Toyota Alvark. Hitachi Sunrockers lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with 18 games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will play next round against strong Toyota Alvark trying to get back on the winning streak. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will travel locally in Tokyo to the arena of Toyota Alvark. Chiba Jets will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Shimane Magic on the road.
