Regular Season Round 21: Marghera - Milano 65-55

There was a surprise result in Venezia where ninth ranked Marghera (11-10) beat higher ranked Milano (14-7) 65-55 on Sunday. Marghera forced 19 Milano turnovers. The best player for the winners was naturalized Argentinian forward Florencia Llorente (182-92) who scored 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Irene Pieropan (175-91) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Four Marghera players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Giulia Maffenini (175-92, agency: Two Points) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and forward Martina Picotti (184-90) added 8 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Milano's coach Ugo Pinotti rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Marghera moved-up to eighth place in A2. Loser Milano dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. Marghera will face league's second-placed Costa Masnaga on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
