There was no surprise when 7th ranked Vicenza (13-8) was crushed at home by second ranked Costa Masnaga (18-3) 74-48 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was guard Valentina Baldelli (169-89) who scored 16 points and 5 assists. Point guard Michela Longoni (170-91) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. Five Costa Masnaga players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Eleonora Zanetti (183-94, agency: SPORTlab Agency) who recorded 12 points and 6 rebounds and guard Federica Monaco (175-93) added 7 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Costa Masnaga maintains second place in A2 with 18-3 record behind leader Sesto SG. Loser Vicenza keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. Costa Masnaga will face Marghera (#8) in Venezia in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Vicenza will play at home against Alpo VF and hope to win that game.
