Regular Season Round 21: Chalon - Le Mans 91-72

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Le Mans (14-7) against eighteenth ranked Chalon/Saor (7-14) on Sunday night. Visiting Le Mans was crushed by Chalon/Saor in Chalon 91-72. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Le Mans. The game was mostly controlled by Chalon/Saor. Le Mans was better in third quarter 25-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Le Mans 41-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for naturalized Cameroonian Jeremy Nzeulie (188-91) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. American point guard Nate Wolters (193-91, college: S.Dakota St., agency: Pensack Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 assists for the winners. Chalon/Saor's coach Jean-Denys Choulet allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international guard Antoine Eito (186-88) answered with 14 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Justin Cobbs (190-91, college: California, agency: Pensack Sports) added 12 points and 6 assists in the effort for Le Mans. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Hyeres-Toulon and Boulazac. Le Mans at the other side dropped to the third position with seven games lost. Chalon/Saor will play against higher ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (#10) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Le Mans will play against Olympique Antibes (#14) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
