Regular Season Round 18: Hapoel Eilat - Galil Gilboa 83-80

Important game to mention about took place in Eilat. Ninth ranked Hapoel Eilat (8-10) saved a 3-point victory at home edging higher ranked Galil Gilboa (9-9) 83-80 on Monday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 25-18. But Galil Gilboa won second period 15-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hapoel Eilat dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Galil Gilboa's 32. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for guard Jordan Loyd (193-93, college: Indianapolis) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Forward Demetrius Treadwell (201-91, college: Akron) contributed with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Hapoel Eilat's coach Sharon Drucker used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. DAngelo Harrison (193-93, college: St.John's, agency: 3Eye) replied with 27 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Zach LeDay (201-94, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) added 13 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Galil Gilboa. Four Galil Gilboa players scored in double figures. Hapoel Eilat moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Maccabi Rishon. Loser Galil Gilboa keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. Hapoel Eilat will face bottom-ranked Maccabi Haifa (#12) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Galil Gilboa will play against Bnei Hasharon (#11) and hope to win that game.
