Regular Season Round 21: Gravelines - Cholet 62-65

A very interesting game took place in Gravelines. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 9th ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (10-11) to eleventh ranked Cholet Basket (10-11) 65-62 in the fight for the ninth place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gravelines-Dunkerque. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Gravelines-Dunkerque won third quarter 15-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Gravelines-Dunkerque 40-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. American Toddrick Gotcher (190-93, college: Texas Tech) nailed a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side and center Jerry Boutsiele (207-92) accounted for 12 points and 9 rebounds. Four Cholet Basket players scored in double figures. American power forward Taylor Smith (199-91, college: SF Austin) came up with 12 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 blocks and point guard Benjamin Sene (186-94) added 10 points respectively for Gravelines-Dunkerque in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Cholet Basket moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Paris-Levallois and Gravelines. Cholet Basket's next round opponent will be Le Portel (#12) at home.
