Regular Season Round 21: Anwil - MKS DG 83-63

PLK top team - Anwil (20-3) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they crushed fifth ranked MKS Dabrowa Gornicza (14-9) in Wloclawek 83-63. Anwil dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to MKS Dabrowa Gornicza's 26. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Cape Verdean-Portuguese Ivan Almeida (198-89, college: Stonehill) stepped up and scored 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Croatian center Josip Sobin (203-89, agency: Alti Sport) chipped in 16 points and 10 rebounds. Four Anwil players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American swingman Aaron Broussard (195-90, college: Seattle) with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import forward DJ Shelton (208-91, college: Washington St.) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Anwil have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 20-3 record. MKS Dabrowa Gornicza at the other side keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. Anwil are looking forward to face Asseco (#11) in Gdynia in the next round and are hoping to win another game. MKS Dabrowa Gornicza will play at home against PGE Turow (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
