The game in Macae was also quite interesting. Corinthians (2-0) played at the court of Macae (0-2). Corinthians defeated Macae 76-66 on Tuesday. They outrebounded Macae 46-32 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international point guard Humberto Gomes (195-95) notched 11 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and center Wagner Mattos (203-82) supported him with 12 points. Five Corinthians players scored in double figures. Corinthians' coach Bruno Savignani used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 18 points and 5 rebounds by point guard Pedrinho Wellausen (183-95) did not help to save the game for Macae. Center Ygor Viana (208-86) added 9 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Corinthians will meet at home Blumenau in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Macae will play against Londrina (#4) and hope to win that game.
