There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Union SF (16-14) outscored on the road higher ranked Obera TC (17-13) 87-58 on Wednesday. They outrebounded Obera TC 41-30 including 35 on the defensive glass. Swingman Matias Borsatti (191-97) fired 21 points and 4 steals for the winners. Forward Rodrigo Sanchez (200-89) chipped in 13 points and 6 assists. Swingman Sergio Rupil (188-94, college: Harcum CC) produced 15 points and 5 steals and naturalized Paraguayan forward Jose Fabio (200-77) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Union SF moved-up to seventh place in North. Loser Obera TC dropped to the fourth position with 13 games lost. Union SF will face Echague (#13) in Parana in the next round where they are favorite. Obera TC will play at home against the league's leader Libertad Sunchales (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
