The game between Top Four teams took place in Reykjavik. Second ranked host Valur (17-6) smashed 3rd placed Keflavik (15-8) 89-66. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Keflavik. The game without a history. Valur led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Valur made 8 blocks. It was a great evening for American swingman Aaliyah Whiteside (183-94, college: Georgia Tech) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 16 rebounds and 6 assists. International guard Gudbjorg Sverrisdottir (180-92) helped adding 16 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Whiteside is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Valur players scored in double figures. American guard Brittanny Dinkins (170-94, college: S.Mississippi) responded with a triple-double by scoring 13 points, 15 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals and international forward Thelma Agustsdottir (179-98) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Keflavik's coach Sverrir Sverrisson gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Valur maintains second place with 17-6 record behind leader Haukar. Defending champion Keflavik keeps the third position with eight games lost. Valur are looking forward to face Skallagrimur (#5) in Borganes in the next round. Keflavik will play at home against Breidablik and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
