There was no surprise when 10th ranked Latina Basket (11-13) was defeated on the road by third ranked Givova Scafati (16-8) 80-75 on Wednesday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Givova Scafati made 24-of-27 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was British point guard Andrew Lawrence (185-90, college: Charleston, agency: Two Points) who scored 24 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Power forward Stefano Spizzichini (203-90) chipped in 18 points. Four Givova Scafati players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Josh Hairston (203-92, college: Duke, agency: Octagon Europe) who recorded 26 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import swingman Benjamin Raymond (198-87, college: Xavier) added 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Givova Scafati moved-up to second place in A2. Loser Latina Basket keeps the tenth position with 13 games lost. Givova Scafati will face Eurotrend Biella (#4) on the road in the next round. Latina Basket will play against Viola RC (#6) in Reggio Calabria and hope to win that game.
