Regular Season Round 37: Espoo United - KTP Basket 97-99

A very close game took place in Espoo between KTP-Basket and Espoo United. Eighth ranked KTP-Basket (15-19) got a very close victory on the road over 9th ranked Espoo United (12-21). KTP-Basket managed to escape with a 2-point win 99-97 in the fight for the eighth place. Espoo United was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 6-point lead after three quarters before a 31-23 charge of KTP-Basket, which allowed them to win the game. U.S. Virgin Islands guard Deon Edwin (190-92, college: Kent St., agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 22 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners and American forward Tim Williams (203-93, college: N.Mexico) chipped in 24 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Omar Calhoun (198-93, college: Connecticut) responded with 24 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import point guard Jeb Ivey (190-80, college: Portland St.) scored 19 points and 8 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. KTP-Basket maintains eighth place with 15-19 record. Newly promoted Espoo United keeps the ninth position with 21 games lost. KTP-Basket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Espoo United will play against Helsinki Seagulls (#4) and hope to secure a win.
