Very important is a road loss of second ranked Asseco II (18-7) against eighth ranked Politechnika Gd. (14-10) on Wednesday night. Visiting Asseco II was crushed by Politechnika Gd. in Gdansk 92-73. Politechnika Gd. dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Asseco II's 36. They outrebounded Asseco II 42-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. Point guard Adam Brenk (193-95) nailed 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and center Filip Pruefer (208-96) accounted for 15 points and 9 rebounds. Five Politechnika Gd. players scored in double figures. Swingman Bartosz Jankowski (193-96) came up with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Karol Kaminski (193-97) added 22 points and 4 assists respectively for Asseco II in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Politechnika Gd.. They moved-up to seventh place in Group A, which they share with SMS PZKosz. Loser Asseco II keeps the second position with seven games lost. Politechnika Gd. will meet AZS UMK Torun (#9) on the road in the next round. Asseco II will play against the league's leader Pelplin (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
