Regular Season Round 24: Groningen - Rotterdam 89-65

Date: March 8, 2018
Eredivisie top team - Groningen (18-2) had no problems winning another game on Thursday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Rotterdam (13-9) 89-65. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Rotterdam. The game without a history. Groningen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Rotterdam's players. Worth to mention a quality performance of American forward Evan Bruinsma (202-92, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Inception Sports) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Brandyn Curry (187-91, college: Harvard, agency: Inception Sports) who added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Belgian point guard Ordane Kanda-Kanyinda (186-96) with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and American swingman Trevor Setty (203-89, college: Pikeville) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Groningen have an impressive 13-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 18-2 record. Rotterdam at the other side keeps the fifth place with nine games lost. Groningen are looking forward to face Leiden (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Rotterdam will have a break next round.
