Another exciting game was between seventh ranked Leyma Basquet and 4th ranked Melilla Baloncesto where Leyma Basquet (13-12) rolled over Melilla Baloncesto (17-9) on the road with 27-point difference 85-58. The game was mostly controlled by Leyma Basquet. Melilla Baloncesto was better in third quarter 16-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Leyma Basquet players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Melilla Baloncesto's players. American guard Zach Monaghan (188-92, college: Minn.St.-Mankato, agency: Duran International) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 assists. Center Eduardo Hernandez-Sonseca (212-83) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Leyma Basquet players scored in double figures. Center Fran Guerra (214-92) replied with 11 points and 7 rebounds and Canadian-Bosnian guard Diego Kapelan (190-87, college: McNeese St.) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Melilla Baloncesto. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Leyma Basquet have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain seventh position with 13-12 record. Melilla Baloncesto at the other side keeps the fourth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Oviedo. Leyma Basquet will play against higher ranked Castello (#6) in Castellon in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Melilla Baloncesto will play on the road against Oviedo CB and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
