Important game to mention about took place in Tapiolan. First ranked Catz Lappeenranta (23-2) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging their biggest opponent Tapiolan Honka (19-6) 68-66 in the fight for the first place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tapiolan Honka. Tapiolan Honka cut a 15-point halftime deficit to two at the end of the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Aleighsa Welch (183-93, college: S.Carolina, agency: Two Points) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Her fellow American import point guard Valencia McFarland (163-91, college: Mississippi) contributed with 9 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners. American swingman Lele Hardy (182-88, college: Clemson) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international swingman Heta Korpivaara (185-84, college: Seton Hall) added 27 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Tapiolan Honka. Catz Lappeenranta maintains first place with 23-2 record. Newly promoted Tapiolan Honka keeps the second position with six games lost. They share it with PeKa. Catz Lappeenranta will play against Kouvottaret (#7) in Kouvola in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Tapiolan Honka will play on the road against ViVe (#5) in Vimpeli and hopes to get back on the winning track.
