Regular Season Round 25: Umea - BC Lulea 92-100

Basketligan top team - BC Lulea (18-6) added another victory to their record on Friday. This time they beat sixth ranked Umea (11-14) 100-92. Umea trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 30-26 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 92-100 at the end of the game. BC Lulea made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Strangely Umea outrebounded BC Lulea 43-31 including 16 on the offensive glass. Canadian forward Yannick Anzuluni (205-87, college: Houghton) stepped up and scored 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and American guard Brandon Rozzell (188-89, college: VCU) chipped in 18 points and 4 assists. At the losing side center Andre Nilsson (209-90) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds and American-Italian guard Nick Schlitzer (198-92, college: Thomas Jefferson) scored 25 points and 5 rebounds. Four BC Lulea and five Umea players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains first place with 18-6 record. Umea at the other side keeps the sixth position with 14 games lost. BC Lulea are looking forward to face Boras Basket (#5) on the road in the next round. Umea will play against KFUM Jamtland in Ostersund and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
