Regular Season Round 22: Hyeres-Toulon - Pau-Lacq-Orthez 65-75

Date: March 9, 2018
Rather predictable result when fifteenth ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (10-12) won against on the road bottom-ranked Hyeres-Toulon (7-15) 75-65 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Pau-Lacq-Orthez. Hyeres-Toulon was better in second period 23-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Pau-Lacq-Orthez won last quarter 22-13. Quite impressive performance for Leopold Cavaliere (202-96, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Zimbabwean power forward Vitalis Chikoko (208-91) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Five Pau-Lacq-Orthez players scored in double figures. The former international center Ferdinand Prenom (201-91) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and American forward Reggie Arnold (198-88, college: Boise St., agency: Athleadz) added 18 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Hyeres-Toulon. Pau-Lacq-Orthez moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Hyeres-Toulon lost ninth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will face higher ranked JL Bourg (#5) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Hyeres-Toulon will play against the league's second-placed Le Mans (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
