Regular Season Round 26: Castello - Sammic ISB 78-67

Very expected game in Castellon where 15th ranked Sammic ISB (9-17) was defeated by sixth ranked Castello (14-13) 78-67. The game without a history. Castello led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Castello outrebounded Sammic ISB 42-31 including 33 on the defensive glass. American-French guard Alfredo Ott (190-83, college: Dillard) notched 31 points (perfect from downtown making all six shots !!!) to lead the effort and naturalized Dominican power forward Juan-Jose Garcia (201-89, agency: Duran International) supported him with 8 points and 8 rebounds. Even 20 points and 5 rebounds by Serbian power forward Vasilije Vucetic (209-96) did not help to save the game for Sammic ISB. Point guard Gaizka Maiza (191-96) added 10 points for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Castello maintains sixth position with 14-13 record. Newly promoted Sammic ISB keeps the fifteenth place with 17 games lost. Castello's next round opponent will be Leyma Basquet (#7) in Coruna. Sammic ISB will play at home against Palencia Baloncesto (#8) and hope to win that game.
