Regular Season Round 19: Dubrava - Ragusa 64-94

There was no surprise in Zagreb where 10th ranked Dubrava (3-14) was crushed by fifth ranked Ragusa (10-6) 94-64 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 94-64. Ragusa dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Dubrava's 30. Ragusa forced 22 Dubrava turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Dubrava's players. It was a great evening for point guard Ana Haklicka (172-1) who led her team to a victory scoring 27 points. Swingman Romana Stojanovic (186-93) helped adding 22 points and 8 rebounds. Five Ragusa players scored in double figures. At the losing side Nives Dzafic (-90) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds and American forward Tricia Principe (174-90) scored 22 points and 7 rebounds. The victory was the third consecutive win for Ragusa. They moved-up to fourth place. Newly promoted Dubrava keeps the tenth position with 14 games lost. Ragusa will meet at home bottom-ranked Brod na Savi (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Dubrava will play against Plamen Pozega and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
