The game between closely ranked teams ended with third ranked Basket Esch's (15-7) road victory over one of their biggest challengers T71 (12-10) 97-86 on Saturday. T71 was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American swingman Jordan Hicks (201-90, college: Loyola, IL, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 31 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import power forward Clancy Rugg (203-91, college: Vermont, agency: Court Side) chipped in 20 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Basket Esch's coach Sylvain Lautie used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was international point guard Tom Schumacher (190-87) with 30 points and 5 assists and the former international power forward Frank Muller (196-88, college: Cuesta JC) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Basket Esch maintains third position with 15-7 record having just three points less than leader Arantia. Loser T71 keeps the fourth place with ten games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
