Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Casvi (7-16) was outplayed on the road by seventh ranked Alcobendas (12-11) 98-63 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 17-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 98-63. Alcobendas outrebounded Casvi 45-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was power forward Daniel Trachsel (202-94) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Miguel Young (200-90) chipped in 15 points. Four Alcobendas players scored in double figures. Alfonso Ortiz (190-99) produced 19 points and British center Gatluak Thiep (213-92, college: Fayetteville St., agency: Duran International) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Alcobendas maintains seventh position in Group B with 12-11 record. Loser Casvi dropped to the thirteenth place with 16 games lost. Alcobendas will face higher ranked Almansa (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Casvi will play against Estudiantes B (#8) and hope to win that game.
