Regular Season Round 22: Kagoshima - Aisin AW 93-101

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when seventh ranked Aisin AW (11-19) won against 6th ranked Kagoshima (14-16) in Renova 101-93 on Saturday. Kagoshima was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for center Eve Nyokozera (199-93) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Fujita Shunsuke (187-93) contributed with 24 points for the winners. Five Aisin AW players scored in double figures. American forward Darnell Martin (198-91, college: CS Dominguez H.) replied with a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!), 19 rebounds and 5 assists (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field) and point guard Koharu Higara (183-93) added 23 points in the effort for Kagoshima. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Aisin AW maintains seventh position with 11-19 record. Loser Kagoshima keeps the sixth place with 16 games lost. Aisin AW's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Aichi Toyoda Gosei.
